The Mastic Beach Village Exploratory Committee is happy to welcome you, our neighbors, to your new website. This site was created to act as a place where we can exchange ideas, help each other regarding the village, and communicate important information with the residents of Mastic Beach on events and plans for the future. We will strive to explain the who, what, when where and why of creating the Incorporated Village of Mastic Beach, to explain the facts about incorporation and how it will effect your quality of life and your pocketbook. We will work to remove any fears or misconceptions about an incorporated village and explain how you can be a part of the process.

The idea of an incorporated village is not new to Suffolk County. Currently in the town of Brookhaven there eight incorporated villages: Belle Terre, Bellport, Lake Grove, Old Field, Patchogue, Poquott, Port Jefferson, and Shoreham. In addition to the ones listed above there are 23 other villages in Suffolk County: Amityville, Babylon, Lindenhurst, East Hampton, Asharoken, Huntington Bay, Lloyd Harbor, Northport, Brightwaters, Islandia, Ocean Beach, Saltaire (both on Fire Island), Dering Harbor, Head of the Harbor, Nissequogue, Village of The Branch, North Haven, Quogue, Southampton, Westhampton Beach, Westhampton Dunes, Greenport and part of Sag Harbor, bringing the current total to 31 and growing. Many of these villages are waterfront communities. Many have greatly improved the quality of life for their residents, and many more hamlets like Mastic Beach are looking to join the list.

We hope the site is informative and helpful in showing you why we feel that an Incorporated Village is vital to the survival of our community, and why we need your help.
